Toolangi (to the east of Melbourne) is home to the tallest flowering tree on earth – the Mountain Ash. A wet forest home to unique and gorgeous wildlife including Leadbeater’s possum, marsupial gliders, owls, wombats and wallabies.

For seven years community and friends of Toolangi have fought long and hard to have our voices heard about the logging of Toolangi State Forests.

Join the day of action to protect the forests – 12th of August.

Currently the future of Toolangi is being chopped and chipped away on a daily basis and being done in the name of paper!

A long due overhaul is needed to the clear fell logging practices being used to destroy native forests and wildlife habitat.

In May this year a meeting was organised by Regional community groups from across the Central Highlands and including East Gippsland. The outcome of this meeting was a vision for Regional Communities to become aligned to put pressure on the Victorian Government and Opposition in the upcoming State elections.

The first action was held last month in the Rubicon Valley.

The second action is being held in Toolangi on the 12th of August.

Come and join us to bear witness to the destruction of these magnificent Mountain Ash forests and to also celebrate what is left.

Further details of the action will be continue to be posted over the coming weeks. For now please put the date in your diary.

You can stay updated on this day through checking the facebook page for the event.
