Avalon House is a beautiful and recently renovated historic 1895 building in Harrietville, offering a range of accommodation options.

Glen Wills Mountain Retreat. Located close to the Mitta Mitta River and just south of Mt Wills. The Retreat is solar and hydro powered.

Paynes Hut. Hosted remote accommodation located in the upper reaches of the Mitta Mitta valley at Shannonvale, about an hour’s drive north of Omeo.

Adventure Guides Australia run the Mount Buffalo ski school, offer Cross Country ski lessons and tours, Snow Shoe trips and snow camping.

Adventures with Altitude. Based in Dinner Plain, and covering “hiking, mountain biking, fishing, food & wine tasting, history/heritage, flora and fauna, or the freedom of exploration the Victorian High Country”.

All Terrain Cycles (ATC) is located in the heart of the Victorian Alpine and High Country town of Mansfield.

Australian walking tours. They do various trips into the Alps.

the Club Second hand bookshop, Swifts Creek, is owned and operated by regional historian Peter Gardner and has a fantastic collection of regional books.

Nine Mile Music. 14b Camp street, Beechworth

Tabletop Press specialises in “books and information on the High Country huts, the Australian Alps, Canberra and the South Coast on NSW”. They are a bit obsessed with coloniser/ settler history for my tastes but provide some excellent histories on mountain huts, the Snowy Hydro scheme, gold mining and other European/ Australian activity in the Alps.

The Epicenter is a mountain bike-focused cafe operating at Telephone Box Junction on Mt Stirling, just across the Delatite Valley from Mt Buller.
