You probably have heard about the campaign to create the Great Forest National Park. You may be aware that logging in the Central Highlands, to the east of Melbourne, threatens precious forests and endangered wildlife.
This is a great chance to get into these forests to see for yourself what’s going on.
Sunday December 10.
This Sunday there will be a wildlife focused, guided, self-drive tour! Our tour guides are more than knowledgeable on the many native animals in this uniquely sublime and fragile Mountain Ash forest, they know these animals intimately and have many a wonderful story to tell. You will walk away enriched forever. Your experience of the bush will never be the same.
This tour is convoy SELF DRIVE and will take you to iconic areas within Toolangi State Forest. We will be encouraging car-pooling at the meeting spot up to the forest, so be prepared. We also support you to use this event page to register and organise car pool from the city. All travel is at own risk and we will ask you to sign a little waiver so we are all on the same page.
Sunday, 10 December 2017 from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Meet at the Toolangi Forest Discovery Centre
1683 Healesville-Kinglake Road
Toolangi, VIC 3777
We will not be stopping in towns, we have much to see.
So please bring along a packed lunch and snacks – we will stop at Tanglefoot Track picnic ground for a lunch break at 1:30 – there are amenities and space for a fire here.
If you are a coffee/tea fan we will have our wonderful Knitting Nannas of Toolangi indulging us at our lunch stop! But good idea to bring a thermos also.
The Ecology Cafe at the Discovery Centre should be open for cool drinks AFTER the tour.
