This winter we will be co-hosting a backcountry gathering.

It has grown out of the World Telemark Day gatherings that have been happening at Mt Hotham in north eastern Victoria each September.

This year we have moved to Falls Creek resort and broadened the focus to cover all forms of human and gravity powered backcountry travel, including telemark skiing, split boarding, cross country, snow shoeing and alpine touring.

The day – to be held on September 1st 2018 – will feature clinics and sessions covering ‘all things backcountry’, with a party at night.

Lock in the date, have a think about how you’d like to be involved, invite your mates (facebook page here), and hopefully we will see you in September.

We already have a draft program (available here). There is heaps more in the works – including demos, lots more BC skills workshops, a party and film night, and possibly a Ski/Splitboard-mo race on the sunday. Please let us know what you would like to offer, for instance a skillshare on splitboarding – we’d love to hear from you and make this a truly inspiring event for the BC community.

All people of all skill levels are welcome – we will aim to have something for everyone, including first timers.
