The Alpine Quest Adventure Race is a navigation-based team event to be held on Australia Day weekend (Jan 25 – 28) for teams of four, who need to stay together the whole time.

It consists of kayaking, mountain biking and trekking legs with some ‘additional challenges’. It will happen out of Falls Creek resort in north east Victoria.

The course is determined by control points and consists of kayaking, mountain biking and trekking legs with some additional challenges. Teams of four will navigate their way between the control points over an unmarked wilderness course using only a map and compass.

The race will be very tough, and it is the ultimate challenge for your body and your mind. No sport demands more concentration, physical effort and teamwork and challenges your mental toughness than adventure racing.

As a team you will have to decide where and when (or if) to stop and rest or eat – the race clock is always ticking and never stops.

Teams of four are invited to take part with Mixed Premier division and Male and Female categories. Entry details available here.

The two courses options are:

  • Expedition course – approximately 150 km within 36 hours timeframe plus prologue stage (3-6 hours).
  • Explore course – 2 days of racing with first day the same as Expedition prologue and second day approximately 50 km within 10 hour timeframe.
